The Minnesota Twins 2020 season officially begins July 24 and FOX Sports North will televise almost every game.  Monday, they announced the telecast details.

The Twins season opener is in Chicago as they take on the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.  Coverage will begin on FOX Sports North at 6:00 p.m. with a special one-hour edition of Twins Live. The Twins first home broadcast will be Tuesday, July 28 when the team hosts the St. Louis Cardinals at Target Field.

If you can't wait until Friday, FOX Sports North will also televise the Twins exhibition game from Wrigley Field on Wednesday, July 22, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The broadcast booth will again feature play-by-play announcer Dick Bremer, who is now in his 37th season in the booth.  He will be joined throughout the season by a respected lineup of Twins alumni, including National Baseball Hall of Famer Bert Blyleven, four-time World Series champion and 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Jack Morris, ‘87 Twins World Series champion Roy Smalley and Twins All-Star and 2006 American League MVP Justin Morneau.

An interesting aspect that will be in place due to the pandemic is the broadcast booth will originate from Target Field for all home and away games.

Reporters Marney Gellner, Audra Martin and Annie Sabo will also contribute to the broadcasts and they will all be located at Target Field for every game, with interviews taking place via Zoom.

As in previous years, Twins Live will air before and after all Twins telecasts with home game pre/postgame shows originating from the FOX Sports North studio and away games hosted from the ballpark.

I've watched a couple intrasquad games recently and as great as it is to have baseball back, it does take a little getting used to seeing empty stands and no crowd noise.  That being said, I'll be ready Friday evening to grill a few beer brats, drink a few beers and finally watch the 2020 Minnesota Twins.
