Having to do taxes is intimidating to most people.  You have an idea of how to do it, but are you taking all the deductions you deserve?  Which form should you use?  You know there are tax services available, but don't think you can afford their fees.  There is a free tax site available through the Community Action Duluth.

The Community Action Duluth's tax site is free.  A team of trained volunteers who understand your needs will prepare your taxes and you'll never be charged any fees or interest.

To be eligible your household tax year 2013 income can be up to $51,000.

Tax preparation starts at Community Action Duluth starts on Tuesday, January 28th and will continue through April 15th at all three convenient locations.

  • At the Community Action Duluth office this year, they are providing TWO evenings of walk-in preparation plus Saturday mornings for all eligible taxpayers. Doors open Tuesday AND Wednesday evenings at 4:30 and at 8:45 am on Saturdays. They are now located at the former Lincoln Park Elementary School, 2424 W 5th St.
  • You could choose the Ordean Building location which is served by appointment on Thursdays starting at 10:00 am and open to all eligible taxpayers.
  • Or lastly, Laura MacArthur School, by appointment on Mondays starting at 4:30 pm for taxpayers with dependents, senior citizens and people with disabilities.

Please call 218-726-1665 to schedule Laura MacArthur and Ordean appointments or for answers to additional questions.
