Three more major retailers have announced they won't be open for Thanksgiving this year. Best Buy, Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods will all close their doors this November. All three stores have locations in the Northland.

Best Buy revealed their plans to close on Thanksgiving day in a press release Tuesday (July 28th), writing that they will be focusing on adapting to the changing times instead. According to their statement, they will still be offering special deals like always and instead of staying open on Thanksgiving, will focus on making curbside pickup more convenient and making sure orders arrive on time. There is no word on what their store hours will be around that time.

Kohl's has followed suit, also announcing their plans to close for the holiday in a press release Wednesday (July 29th), citing the safety and importance of their customers as the reason behind the decision. Instead, the retailer says customers can shop in-stores beforehand, shop online and use their curbside pickup option to get what they need.

Dick's Sporting Goods announced the news in a press release Monday (July 27th), stating that they are grateful for their staff and how they have handled the tumultuous year amid COVID-19. They will remain open Wednesday, November 25th for normal business hours and will reopen the following Friday with more details to come.

These retailers are following in the footsteps of other big name stores, like Target and Walmart, both of which announced recently they would not be open come Thanksgiving 2020.
