As many people across the Northland know, hunting isn't just for the boys.  The Minnesota DNR has a terrific opportunity for women to learn necessary hunting skills.

According to the DNR, there will be educational sessions that lead up to a one-on-one mentored hunt during the weekend of Oct. 14 at Itasca State Park, which is under 3 hours away. The session dates are Saturdays, Aug. 27, Sept. 24, and Oct. 8.

Sessions will include deer biology, habits, habitat, regulations, equipment, scouting, how to find hunting land, rifle practice and more. Lodging for the weekend hunt is included at Itasca State Park, and the registration fee is $100 plus minimal range fees for practice shooting.

If you're interested, you'll need access to a legal firearm in good working condition, a deer license and must possess firearm safety certification prior to the mentored hunt.

You can get all the details with the link below, but don't wait long as the class is limited to 10 women.
