Wolf hunters that were selected from the wolf hunt lottery must purchase their license by October 24th, otherwise those unclaimed licenses will go up for sale.  At this point, the Minnesota DNR has sold 1,155 of the 3,600 wolf licenses made available.  Beginning Oct. 29th, those unclaimed licenses will be available on a first come first serve basis to anyone not selected in the lottery.

The wolf hunt season in Minnesota coincides with the firearm deer season. There is also a trapping season, which the same rules apply for different dates.  If selected by lottery for the trapping season, trappers must get their licenses by Nov. 19th.

Licenses are available from any DNR license agent, online at www.mndnr.gov/buyalicense or by telephone at 888-665-4236. Complete wolf hunting regulations are available online at www.mndnr.gov/hunting/wolf.
