Wisconsin Standalone and Strip-mall Based Retail Stores May Reopen

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers made an announcement today that will affect thousands of retails stores across the state.

Effective immediately, all standalone or strip-mall based retail stores are allowed to open for in-person shopping for up to five customers at a time while making sure all social distancing practices are followed.

Evers said, "Both customers and workers need to be confident in their safety, so we need everyone to be diligent in following best safety practices so we can continue to move our state forward while keeping our neighbors, families, and communities safe and healthy."

This is an important step forward for many businesses in Superior, this allows them to ease back into being open at 100% in the coming weeks and months.

This latest order, Emergency Order #36, adds even more business flexibility after  Emergency Order #34 allowed golf courses to open, lawn and construction services provided by a single employee to get back to work, curbside pick-up for public libraries, and all businesses to provide deliveries, mailings, and curbside pick-up and drop-off services.

We still have a long way to go, but it's a start. Now let's see if Minnesota follows the lead and offers the same to its businesses in the next week or so.
