There's all types of lists and studies these days. Recently, for example, the Minnesota State Fair was named the best fair in the country. That's not a big surprise though.

Meanwhile, a Wisconsin tourist staple was named one of the top ten most dangerous spots to visit this summer. That's not good.
Lake Geneva came in seventh on the list, which has gained national attention this month. This list makes up for it a bit!

This study dropped early on Monday (August 11th), naming the best and worst states to live in at the moment. As always, WalletHub looked at a bunch of determining factors to come up with this list.

These factors include affordability, like the cost of living and median annual household income. They also looked at economic factors, like the unemployment rate, and education and health factors. Most importantly, perhaps, was the fact they looked at quality of life and safety in each state.
Wisconsin Named The Fourth Best State To Live In 2025
Wisconsin killed it, coming in at number four on the list. We love to see it! Wisconsin ranked in the top ten for safety, along with education and health. These factors helped boost it to the top of the list.

Wisconsin also ranked in the top fifteen when it comes to quality of life and economy, like the unemployment rate, population and income growth and job opportunities. It looks like things are going great in the Cheesehead State.
I love Wisconsin and all of its charm! I think it is an underrated state so love seeing it at the top of this list. As for the best state to live in this year? That would be Massachusetts. The worst is New Mexico. Yikes.
