Walmart Great Value Pancake + Waffle Mix Recall Details

Continental Mills has issued a nationwide voluntary recall of one of their brands of pancake and waffle mix that's sold at Walmart stores.  Specific lots of Great Value Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix is involved in the recall effort, due to the discovery of foreign material contamination.

According to details released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, an internal survey discovered that "[f]ragments from a cable used to clear the processing line were discovered in a limited amount of product" that's related to the lot code in question.

While there have been no known discoveries of the foreign materials in packages by consumers, Continental Foods is acting under caution to make sure that consumers are safe.  Additionally, there have been no known reports of medical illness or concerns related to the Great Value Pancake and Waffle Mix boxes being recalled.

Continental Mills has worked with their vendors and local retailers to make sure that the recalled products have been removed from store shelves.  However, if you recently purchase the pancake mix and the lot code and other markings match the recall details, you're asked to dispose of the product immediately.  You can additionally return it to the Walmart store you bought it at for replacement or a refund.
