Volunteers Needed For “Dig in for the Downtown Waterfront”
If you'd like to get outside and be productive this Wednesday, the Greater Downtown Council and City of Duluth could use your help.
There are approximately 110 streetscape planters at Wheeler Field, just waiting for volunteers to fill them with flowers on Wednesday, June 5.
Once filled with flowers, City crews will then move the planters to adorn the sidewalks of the Downtown Waterfront this summer. The Greater Downtown Council’s Clean & Safe Team will maintain them throughout the summer season.
This annual volunteer event usually draws about 60 people and the more the merrier. If you're able to help fill the planters and beautify downtown Duluth, here are the event details:
- Date: Wednesday, June 5 (rain date June 6th)
- Time: 10:00 a.m.
- Location: Wheeler Field, upper parking lot on west side of the softball fields
Organizers say that if you have gardening tools, you should absolutely bring them. Gardening gloves are also recommended, so you should also bring those along.
