The Minnesota Vikings will be without another defensive player as they prepare to face off against the Green Bay Packers this weekend. The team announced Wednesday that rookie cornerback Cameron Dantzler has been added to the COVID-19/reserve list.

As the message from the Vikings explains, this list was created this season for players that have either tested positive for COVID-19 or for those that have been in close contact with someone that has tested positive.

League rules do not allow teams to provide further information about the player's medical status beyond whether or not they have been designated to the COVID-19/reserve list.

The news comes just a few days before the Vikings are slated to head to Green Bay to take on the Packers in Border Battle II of the season. As you may remember (or still might be trying to forget), Green Bay defeated the Vikings at US Bank Stadium to open the season on September 13 in a 43-34 game that saw most of Minnesota's points come in a late-game attempt to catch up.
