On September 18th, 2020, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away.  While I knew a bit about her and her legacy, I didn't know that much and thus, the outpouring of positive thoughts about her online was surprising to me.  Surprising in a good way, as it moved me to read up more on her life as a judge.  Justice Ginsburg was a shining light for many as she was an advocate for gender equality, and women's rights.

On Saturday, October 17th, there will be a memorial event for Justice Ginsburg at the Cedar Lounge in Superior.  It will be under their big tent and masks will be required, there of course will be social distancing observed as well.  Local women's groups will be on-site with informational tables about their organizations and there will also be live music from local favorite, Laura Velvet.  It will be a great opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the life and good work that Justice Ginsburg did throughout her career.

The memorial event will run from Noon-3:00PM with the introduction starting at 12:30.  Beer will be available for purchase to enjoy while socializing and listening to event speakers, and the live music starts at 1:00PM.  It's being presented by Twin Ports Pinup, a women’s group that uplifts women in the group and our community through fun with Pinup glamour and community outreach.  You can get more information on this and other events they have coming up HERE.  The Cedar Lounge in Superior is located at 1715 North 3rd Street.
