This is incredible! The HBO hit True Detective is officially in its fourth season. The latest season is called True Detective: Night Country. It premiered to rave reviews this week and Minnesotans were in for an extra special treat.

For some background, the show has been around for about a decade. The first season featured Matthew McConaughey and instantly became a hit, even being called one of the best seasons of television ever.

I won't give any spoilers, but this season takes place in Alaska. It focuses on eight researchers who disappear while working at a research station. The disappearances may be connected to a cold case from the same area.

While we have to see how the rest of the season plays out, we can find some excitement in the meantime over the fact that the main character on the show rocked some Minnesota merch at one point!

Jodie Foster, who plays Detective Liz Danvers, can be seen wearing a purple Vikings sweatshirts in one of the big scenes from the premiere! She is seemingly sitting in her kitchen looking at case files while representing the Land of 10,000 Lakes. How awesome.

That is a pretty cute sweatshirt and I would probably wear it as well! It remains to be seen if the character has any Minnesota connections. There was also a Minnesota Wild game playing on the television in the background of a separate scene. Hmmm...maybe one of the writers or producers is from here or maybe the character is, although it is never stated.

There is for sure one Minnesota connection. One of the other stars of the series is from St. Paul and this is her first major role. Her name is Isabella LeBlanc. She was announced as part of the show back in March of last year. I am excited to see her in this show.

This looks like an incredible season! You can watch is on HBO or stream it on HBO Max. If it is anything like the first season, I know it is going to be one of the best series of television ever.
