Thirsty Pagan Brewing Prepares For Grand Re-Opening In June at New Location
Thirsty Pagan just celebrated being in business for the last 14 years this May, but not much fanfare was going on as they prepare to open in a new location. Owner Steve Knauss and his staff have been working around the clock for the brew pub's new spot at 1615 Winter Street in Superior.
A soft opening is set for this week and an official grand opening date is planned for June 8. The new building is the 110-year-old historic Soo Line Depot. Remodeling and renovations have been ongoing since January which include a new kitchen.
According to Perfect Duluth Day Thirsty Pagan moved into their old Broadway Street location back in 2006 and Steve Knauss said that he had hoped to own the building they were in within 10 years. He offered multiple times to buy the Broadway street building but his offers were turned down, hence the new location.
All of the staff at Thirsty Pagan are really excited with the new building which has more parking and better visibility . Also, the new building has improved seating which will help to see the bands better and it is one of the few places around that has beer food and restrooms all in the same location. Knauss said feedback he has gotten from the community has been extremely positive and I am sure many people are anxious for then to re-open their doors!
