Third Confirmed COVID-19 Case in St. Louis County
St. Louis County, Minnesota has its third confirmed COVID-19 Coronavirus case. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, the person is described as a female in her late 30's who is recovering at home. The infection is linked to domestic travel and not the result of community transmission.
According to our news partners at WDIO, officials believe she has only had contact with immediate household family members. The health department has asked them to quarantine themselves for 14 days from when they were exposed. They will also be monitored for fever and respiratory symptoms.
What is important to note is that the woman was tested on March 18th, a full week ago. We just now have been informed of the results from the state. That is why it is imperative that people continue to practice social distancing as there likely are more cases that we have not yet received test results.
The Minnesota Deparment of Health has updated the state statistics for COVID-19. As of March 25th, there are 287 positive cases in the state. They have tested 6365 people in their labratories, and an additional 5,110 from external laboratories.
