The Time I Took My Halloween Obsession To A New Level
Halloween is my very favorite holiday. I can't get enough of it. I usually go all out but last year, I truly went above and beyond.
I love all things scary - movies, television shows, things that go bump in the night, ghosts, etc. I never really put much effort into a costume, despite my love for the holiday.
For my first Halloween event, I decided to take the easy way out and be an FBI agent. I have been this a few years in a row. It is easy and I can pretend I am cool for a night. A better FBI agent showed up to the party and that's when I decided I needed to step it up.
Step it up I did. I decided this lame costume seen above wouldn't cut it. (Although, my friends weren't that creative either.) I thought long and hard about how I could make a comeback. I saw a commercial for Nyquil and something clicked. My friend thought I was crazy but agreed to be Dayquil. We put a lot of effort into this idea. It consumed us for a few days. It was all worth it because we won a costume contest.
One day later, when the actually holiday rolled around, I decided to switch it up. I didn't want to be a costume repeater and it wouldn't be as good the second time around. I had another great idea. I was told my niece Aubrey was going to be a unicorn for Halloween. Hoping to earn cool points, I bought a unicorn onesie and wore it ALL DAY on Halloween. I went and judged a pumpkin carving costume in said onesie. I went to the coffee shop. I didn't care because I just wanted to be twinning with my niece. Later that day, I got a picture of her in her costume and she was not a unicorn. It turns out she changed her mind last minute. Lesson learned.

This year, I am back to being lame. I still take Halloween very seriously but I need to fly under the radar in case I see someone dressed as a clown.
