Wrenshall Public Schools is closing Tuesday and Wednesday and will resume Thursday with changes.

I want to start this blog out by telling you that while this is factual, it's based on what my friends in Wrenshall and Duluth have told me and NOT from any local police department press release.  In two separate instances, in two separate communities I've had friends tell me of shady visitors to their homes asking puzzling questions and that sparked speculation.

Kevin Koen has been making maple syrup for the past 30 years.  Ten of those years have been in my hometown of Wrenshall.  Amazingly, it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.  Kevin and his friends spend hours upon hours boiling sap to perfection, making delicious hand-crafted maple syrup.

The Little Brown Jug game has been played between friendly rivals Wrenshall and Carlton for 65 years.  With both school's basketball teams vying to score the most points and earn the right to house the "little brown jug" in their school until the next match.  However, this is a historic year because the two schools are considering consolidation, therefore this might be the last time the

It's been a long time coming, with a lot of support from several Northland communities.  You began to hear more and more about a local company called "Locally Laid" around the Super Bowl because they were vying to win a free TV commercial during the most watched sporting event in the nation.  They didn't come in first place, but second place is nothing to cluck at either!

The race is heating up among four finalists to win a Super Bowl commercial in Intuit’s Small Business Big Game contest, and Wrenshall's Locally Laid Eggs continuing their push with a little help from the Duluth Police Department.
