One of my best memories from high school was when the 1987 Twins came out of nowhere to win the World Series.  I still remember watching all the games, then joining an impromptu parade downtown Duluth to celebrate the victory.  This weekend, the Twins will host of reunion of that fun team.

The Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians are two major league baseball teams that are long overdue for a World Series Championship.  It's fitting that it's gone to a game 7 in Cleveland where the home team hasn't won a championship since 1948,  while the Cubs last won it all in 1908! Scotty McCreery was all set to see his beloved Boston Red Sox at the White House today, but it all went wrong, thanks to American Airlines.

Our own local team could possibly be heading to the Jr Little League World series.  They fought back yesterday afternoon to stay alive, and play Kentucky at 1:00 today.  Here's a recap of what happened yesterday:

Game 4 winning pitcher Derek Holland surprised the world with his stellar performance.  He also surprised us with some hilarious impressions while talking to the fox announcers during last night's game.  

The scene of the World Series shifted from the chill of St. Louis to the much warmer confines of Texas last night. For Game 3 of the Fall Classic between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals, country crooner Ronnie Dunn was called upon to sing he National Anthem, completing the trifecta of country artists singing the song for the first three World Series games.
