Grandma's Marathon weekend brings a lot of fun, but there are significant impacts on traffic.

The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon sold out late last year and now, the full marathon has followed suit.

Grandma's Marathon organizers predict the race will fill up by the end of the week.

There are no lottery system in place for any of the races, including the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon. Entries will be taken on a first come, first serve basis until the races fill up.

It seems like just yesterday that I was running the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, yet here we are in fall with Grandma's Marathon registrations opening Monday.

Although we have yet to experience 2018 Grandma's Marathon weekend, registration dates were released today for the 2019 races.

Grandma's Marathon weekend is coming up June 15 - June 16 and even though they are currently deployed to southwest Asia, the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota National Guard will be participating.

If want to participate in any of the Grandma's Marathon races next year, make sure you're logged on and ready to register at 5:00 p.m. this Sunday, October 1.   Remember, there is no longer lottery in place for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and runners will get in on a first-come, first-served basis. That race could fill up fast.
