At age seven I had hair down past my bum.  Long, black and very thick.  But, my mom would NEVER let me wear it loose or down my back.  She was dead set on doing my hair EVERY DAY as a child.  It was usually braids, sometimes even french braids and if I was lucky every once in a while she would allow a pony tail.  All I remember is how tightly she pulled my hair to achieve "her" perfectio
