We spent the week of Thanksgiving in the happiest place on earth, Disney World. We survived and we had a great time, but there was definitely some new experiences had with that amount of people.
We happened to be on vacation when the solar eclipse of 2017 was going to take place. I was bummed because I suspected we were just going to miss the whole thing. But, thanks to The Wobblin' Duck Saloon, we even got to watch it (safely).
There was some buzz this last week about a music festival in the Bahamas that went terribly wrong. Basically, it was a cheap festival that attracted a lot of young people to go see some big acts. However, the acts never showed up. They all cancelled. It was promised to be a luxury vacation, but in fact turned out to be a fight for survival.
My friend Jill went on vacation to the Caribbean and may have stumbled on the new trend, swimming with the pigs. Up until now I've only heard people talk about being thrilled to have been able to swim with the dolphins. Many do it so they can cross it off their bucket list. My wife and I went on an anniversary trip to visit different family members living in different parts of Colorado. To get across from Glenwood Springs area to back east to Breckenridge, we took the scenic route called Independence Pass. It was a fantastic view, and also a bit scary as our car broke down on the top of the mountain.
Here's another edition of my vacation series in Brimson. It was a beautiful day and we had decided to go kayaking. Our plan was an hour tour down the Little Cloquet River. We had parked one truck at a bridge and another at the Pequaywan Inn. What transpired that day was exhausting and had us thinking we may have to spend the night on the river.
Lately the only fishing I've done is with Ken Hayes, my co-host. But, we've both been so busy we haven't found time to even go for the afternoon. However, I found that he isn't my lucky charm. I got to go out a few times while on vacation the beginning of the month and I caught my first fish in a VERY long time. It does come with a big fish tale of humor though!
We were SUPPOSED to go to Yellowstone. We had been planning this vacation since the gas prices had dropped. We nervously watched the gas prices rising but after months of planning nothing was going to stop us now, except a broken camper axle. That prompted us to choose a much closer camping location that bears a bit of explaining.
