Free Hub magazine is a biking adventure site that features news and articles about anything with two wheels. They recently did a video highlighting the massive bike trail system in Duluth, calling it Trail City.

Ok, I'll go first.  I've lived in the Twin Ports for 10 years, and I have never been to the Glensheen Mansion.   How does that happen?  Well there has been a couple of times where I've almost gone, but something has come up.   What have you never done even though you've lived here for some time?

Spirit Mountain has announced that they, along with title sponsor Frost River, will host the Frosted Fatty Fat Bike Race on March 4 and March 5, 2017.

This weekend, all biking enthusiasts should plan to be at Spirit Mountain for the third annual Bike Duluth Festival, presented by the Kraus-Anderson Community Foundation and Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores.  Since Duluth currently has 65 miles of urban mountain biking trails, this should draw a lot of people and there will be plenty of activity.

For anyone that has lived in Duluth for longer than a week, there are just certain things you'd be afraid to admit you've never done or places you've never been.

Spirit Mountain has teamed up with COGGS, a biking advocy group, to win a contest that would fund a new bike park at Spirit Mountain.  The grant would come from Bell Bike Helmets, and Spirit Mountain has advanced all the way to the final voting, but is currently in second place.

Bell Helmets will be awarding $100,000 to a city to fund a trail building project.  Duluth needs your vote!  The project would be for a bike park at Spirit Mountain.  Duluth is faced against Red Rock Park in New Mexico and Cedar Creek Trail in New Mexico.  At the time of this article, Duluth has a narrow lead.

A new event, combining the endurance of a 5K race with the challenge of an obstacle course, is coming to Duluth July 20. The event, called Mudman Duluth offers people of all skill levels the opportunity to test their mental and physical mettle with an obstacle-filled 5K on the beautiful hillside of Spirit Mountain.

If you're up to a physical challenge and enjoy obstacle courses, Mudman wants to prove that it's the best race out there for you.   We had the chance to talk with one of the organizers, Bill, about the race coming up next weekend.

Extremely cold temperatures and wind chill values leading to the wind chill warning in effect through Tuesday have prompted officials at Spirit Mountain to close the hill early on Monday January 21 and Tuesday January 22, 2013.

While surfing the web, I saw Yahoo.com's Best Autumn Drives.  Naturally, I had to check it out to make sure the North Shore Scenic Highway was on there.   We did make the list, and they actually did some research!  Here's what they had to say:

  Spirit Mountain officially inaugurated the latest fun family attraction in the Twin Ports – the Timber Flyer zip line – with a ceremony Tuesday. Having already served visitors for about a week, the Timber Flyer officially gained its “open for business” status with a ceremony including local government officials, the Chamber of Commerce, members of the media, and riders waiting for their chance t
