Soda

Minnesota has well over 100 taprooms that specialize in everything from craft beer to cider, but only one is as unique as the one that just opened.

It has nothing to do with drinking soda.

What happened to my favorite Sierra Mist? All I see is this Starry pop, which I assumed was a generic brand. That's not the case.

More importantly, should you try mixing this soda and beer?

While driving on Belknap in Superior this past weekend I noticed the sign boasting homemade Root Beer at the A&W Restaurant.  They aren't kidding, it IS homemade.  I use to work at the A&W in Cloquet and we made our root beer too.  Don't believe me, here's proof.

I was in the grocery store yesterday on my way to the check out when I saw Coke Life.  It caught my eye as it was in a green can.  It said lower calorie Coke.  I thought I would give it a shot as it said it's made with real cane sugar.   It doesn't have any of the high fructose corn syrup crap.

Much like cigarettes and alcohol are taxed, there is a movement afoot to levy similar charges on soda and other sweetened beverages.
