The Click It Or Ticket campaigns have begun in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, which means there will be extra law enforcement out now through June 4 to make sure motorists are wearing their seat belts.  This is a component of both state’s Toward Zero Deaths program, with goal of zero road fatalities.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has begun their 'Click It Or Ticket' campaign, to raise awareness of Minnesota's seat belt law and to raise awareness about how important it is to wear your seat belt.

While I wear my seat belt every time I get into a vehicle, I know people who don't.  If you're one of those people, you may want to change your ways because there is now extra enforcement on the roads looking for people who haven't buckled up.

Seat belts must be worn properly or they won't do what they’re designed to do in a crash, save lives.  Minnesota statistics show that there are about 150 deaths and more than 400 serious injuries because motorists aren't wear they're seat belts properly.  I was shocked to read that something I do (yes, I'm admitting it) is illegal.

Honestly, if you make it a habit to put your seat belt on as soon as you get in the car, you'll eventually have an uneasy feeling when you don't have it on.  It's a proven fact that wearing seat belts help to save lives.  With the statistics verifying that fact our Northland law enforcement has stepped up their seat belt enforcement.  It's important and it's the law.
