The annual CHUM Rhubarb Festival will be back this year with rhubarb-themed meals and desserts.

The 17th annual CHUM Rhubarb Festival comes back and you can attend online or in-person, which will meet everyone in the middle, those that are comfortable can come and if you are not, you can attend virtually.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and the fact that a lot of work would need to soon begin for the 2020 Rhubarb Festival, CHUM has made a difficult decision.

This Saturday, June 25, is the 12th Annual Chum Rhubarb Festival in Duluth.  If you're looking for an event that promises unique food and fun for the whole family, this looks again to be a great option.

I wish I could sew.  I did not make my Wrenshall School Home Economics teacher, Mrs. Urbanski proud.  I spent more time ripping than I did sewing.  I should have the skills, my grandmother could sew anything and without a pattern!  CHUM has a huge community event every year and are in need of a volunteer that can sew.  Is that you?

If you're looking for something fun and different to do this weekend in the Northland, get ready to spend Saturday in a rhubarb state of mind.

You could see the smiles on their faces as they were running the Whipper Snapper races last Friday, June 21.  It was the true kick-off to all of Grandma's Marathon races.  Each participant was proud to receive a ribbon for their efforts.  Are they hooked?  The Rhubarb Festival will have a Children's Run around Leif Erickson Park, then stick around for the rest of the fun and good eats!

I know Bea Ojakangas as a Dress Barn model for the Women's Expo, and every year she is a show stopping favorite!  Of course, that's a side line for her, she is actually world famously known for her culinary skills and authoring several Cook Books...

I remember my mom's home-made Rhubarb Bars.  She didn't bake often, and I would never have dreamed THIS would be one of my favorites...but dang, they were good.  I really should dig the recipe out and put it in this year's Rhubarb Festival Recipe Contest.  Have you ever attended the festival?  It's really a fun day!
