I went out of town for a few days and I came back feeling more inspired than ever.

The St. Jude Radiothon is one the most rewarding things we do year after year. They work tirelessly at St. Jude to realize a day when kids will be cancer free and while they are making tremendous strides, there is still much work to be done. Our community has been instrumental in this process and we're ready to make even more progress this year.

Yesterday Eric Paslay stopped into the studio to help out ahead of his concert.  Eric is very familiar with St. Jude and has been a supporter for years.  He talks with Ken, Cathy, and Chris about his experience visiting the hospital, and meeting the patients.

Kevin Koen from the Carlton area came by to present a check for the St. Jude Radiothon.  Harold Ankrum, Kevin Koen, and a whole bunch of other great people from Carlton put on some fantastic fundraising events for St. Jude.   They include the Hog Roastin' Fiasco in September, The Flippin Flapjack Pancake Breakfast in May, and The Harold's Fiasco Golf Outing.

Renee Pasaal, Maarja Anderson, and Dan Romano from WDIO came by to help out at our St. Jude Radiothon.  We also let them have some of the excitement with announcing the winner of our first autographed star guitar!

Danny Thomas founded the hospital to help children battling life threatening illnesses, and today marks 54 years that the doors have been open.  The hospital treats children regardless their ability to pay.  It's also the leading research center that shares it's information on childhood diseases such as cancer.   We've hosted the radiothon locally for nearly 20 years, and have raised over 1,000,00

For those of you who have listened to me at B105 since I started, you heard me talk about my daughter Kylee since she was three years old.  She was four when we started the St. Jude radiothons and even at that young age wanted to volunteer.  This year, as B105 hit two huge milestones with St. Jude totals, Kylee was there to support mom and the kids of St. Jude again!

Today and Friday is our radiothon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  We have been thinking about these two days all year long.  We are only about $64,000 away from reaching our MILLION dollar mark.  Be part of that million, become a Partner In Hope and get your name in a drawing to win an autographed Star Guitar.
