A baby porcupine, also known as a porcupette, was found near her mother who was struck by a car. A local wildlife rescue took her in.

Sad news this week from the Lake Superior Zoo.  Juanita, a female Mexican porcupine has died at the age of 27 years old. Juanita was the oldest Mexican porcupine in the captive management population according to the International Species Information System, a world-wide collaborative database for zoos, aquariums and similar conservation-related organizations.

Some porcupines in Harrisburg, PA, have been a thorn (or quill) in the side of some residents lately, so as they say, it's on like Donkey Kong! Hunting regulators say it's time to declare open season on the odd-looking rodents after residents began citing property damage as a result of the porcupines running amuck.
