Northern Lights Foundation

Kids, families and even dogs are invited to get their picture taken with Santa at the Fitger's Complex.  Donations benefit the Northern Lights Foundation and other non-profit organizations.  It's FREE to military families and pets are more than welcome! (especially when I'm there volunteering!)

It was an absolute beautiful evening at Wade Stadium Thursday evening for the 8th Annual Guns N Hoses Softball Challenge that pit the Duluth Police and Fire Departments against each other.  Yes, the Duluth Police Department won the game, but the Duluth Fire Department deserves a big congratulations too!

It's a big challenge!  The 8th Annual Guns N Hoses Softball Challenge pitting the Duluth Police Department against the Duluth Firefighters. Who will win this year?  I know the Northern Lights Foundation will be a big winner because the net food and beverage sales is donated to the families they serve.

I am going to be in my element when we broadcast live from Dunkin' Donuts 7-9a Tuesday morning.  Besides delicious donuts (as you know, my favorite), it's our chance to see you face-to-face.  It's the Grand Opening Celebration and a special day for the Northern Lights Foundation.

If you've been listening to Cathy and I the last few days, you know I've been pretty nervous about my upcoming performance this Thursday.  I'm one of the participants in the "We Need More Cowbell" competition. Celebrities play the cowbell and compete along with the Lake City Smoking Section...

Add it to your collection of the previous years!  I look forward to the CD release party every year and buy lots for holiday stocking stuffers!  It's cool knowing that the artists on the CD are from the Northland, many of them children in area schools.  Not only do I get some names crossed off my holiday list, the money goes to area flood relief and kids with catastrophic illnesses.

It's coming!  The 3rd Annual "We Need More Cowbell" competition!!  Thursday, January 26, will be a night filled with food, fun and fightin'.  Fightin' for the Golden Cowbell.  It will be at Grandma's Sports Garden with doors opening at 5p, and the show starting at 6p.  Tickets are only $10 at the door and includes the cowbell entertainment, LIVE music from the Lake City Smokin' Section,

Holiday music by local artists, nothing could be better, except when the proceeds of the CD benefit LOCAL children with catastrophic and life-threatening diseases. Get into the Holiday spirit and take care of stuffing the stockings of those you love, all while helping the Northern Lights Foundation. A big thank you to everyone who came out to the Wade last night for the 4th Annual Guns N Hoses Softball Challenge pitting the Duluth Police Department against the Duluth Firefighters. Congratulations to the Police, winning the challenge again this year. A Moose Lake Elementary student, Megan Wegge was diagnosed with a form of liver cancer and is currently receiving chemotherapy that will continue  through the summer.  A fundraiser was held over the week-end in Sturgeon Lake and the Northern Lights Foundation presented the family with a $2000 check.
