It is that time of year again to help Duluth firefighters fill the boot campaign

The USDA has shared what the seeds actually are in the mysterious packages from China, and urges people to contact them if they have received a package.

The Fill The Boot campaign is back for 2020, but rather than approaching people to collect donations during the pandemic, everyone can donate to this terrific cause online.

Duluth Firefighters will be participating in the annual "Fill The Boot" campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  Firefighters will be accepting donations starting Tuesday at different intersections throughout Duluth.

If you're out and about in Duluth this week and notice a firefighter approaching with a boot in hand, you aren't in any trouble.  The Fill The Boot campaign is once again underway to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association find urgently needed treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that severely limit strength and mobility.

I have worked for the MDA.  I know, first hand, how important our Firefighters are in the Northland.  Not only because they are first responders to our homes and families when we have an emergency, but because they pour their heart and soul into raising much needed funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  They choose to raise money in a unique and fun way called "Fill The Boot". Many of us have "filled the boot" in Duluth or Superior, either on the street corner, or at a parade. Wednesday,  it's Virginia's turn.  The International Association of Fire Fighters Local #390 will be waiting for you and your donation in the 58th Annual event.  Yes, 58th ANNUAL!
