Here’s What The New Roundabout Will Look Like For I-35/Hwy 33 in Cloquet [VIDEO]

Coming in this next spring, work will begin on a new roundabout that will replace the deadly Highway 33/ Interstate 35 area. There have been two fatal crashes in the last 10 years and other serious injuries from the current design.

A petition has been started recently asking that MnDOT change the I-35 & Highway 33 intersection in Cloquet. It has seen 40 accidents in the last 3 years. 600 people have already signed the petition.

Bridge Projects At Highway 53, Highway 33 In Independence Begin May 8

Why let I35 have all the fun? As summer in the Northland approaches, the road repairs and construction are right there waiting. I just received word that projects to build a new bridge over Highway 53 at Highway 33 and repair the northbound Highway 53 bridge over the Cloquet River in Independence begin May 8. From the press release, the following lane restrictions are scheduled:
