Duluth and Superior have great fireworks displays, but there are plenty of celebrations around the area that are just a short jaunt away. Here are some I have put together.

Duluth's Fourth Fest is tomorrow in Bayfront Festival Park, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and music at 4:30 p.m.  If being on Lake Superior is in your plans, then you should be aware of special operating hours for both the Ariel Lift Bridge and the Minnesota Slip Bridge (the blue bridge by the DECC).

The Fourth Of July is always a great time of the year, even when it falls on a Tuesday.  With the upcoming holiday, the City Of Superior has announced changes in their trash and recycling pick up schedule.

The Mighty Thomas Carnival has been coming to the DECC parking lot for as long as I can remember.  But, one year in particular stands out for a couple of reasons, one it was just us kids because one of us had just gotten our license (early 80's) and two, it was the first time I rode a carnival ride called "The Caterpillar" (I think that's what it was).

This week, I've been sharing fun 4th of July activities in Northland communities and today I'll share what Duluth has planned for their annual Fourth Fest Celebration.

The Northland is ready to celebrate the birthday of America with a number of community festivals and fireworks displays commemorating the holiday. One of the biggest attractions for many of these festivals and celebrations is the fireworks display. So, when and where are these fireworks shows?

The City of Duluth will hold its annual Fourth Fest celebration Monday at Bayfront Festival Park.  The gates open at 4 p.m. and live music begins at 4:30.  If you plan on being on the water utilizing the Minnesota Slip Bridge or Aerial Lift Bridge, you should be aware of special hours that will be in place on the holiday.
