Fitgers 5k

Registration for the 30th annual Fitger's 5K Run & Walk is going on now and to celebrate the anniversary year, they have special things planned.

Grandma's Marathon announced that registration is now open for all 2019 Young Athletes Foundation races, including the popular Fitger's 5k and KP Challenge.

New names on the leaderboard for the Fitgers 5k race. Nate Routhier took the Open Men's division. Ellen Smith was the first woman.

Surprisingly, Grandma's Marathon announced that registration is still open for the 29th annual Fitger’s 5K Run & Walk. The run is expected to sell out before race day on April 21st.

Kate Kucinski is the Public Relations Director for Grandma's Marathon, which means she handles any races that are associated with Grandma's Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation. Kate is hard to talk to on race day because she has so much to do. So do all the volunteers for the race.

Our local Fitger's 5K is this Saturday, every year the Duluth Police Department provides a traffic advisory and I wanted to share that with you to help plan the best route for travel that day.

If you're looking for incentive to join in the fun waiting at the 28th Annual Fitger's 5k with Grandma's Marathon benefiting the Young Athletes Foundation, this should do it!  Remember, they are capping the entries at 2,000 and I guarantee it'll fill up fast.  By the way, if you're training for Grandma's Half or Full Marathon, this is a great training race!

Grandmas Marathon raises money throughout the year for the Young Athletes Foundation by hosting races that are fun for all levels of runners.  If you're looking for a fun way to get exercise, then you'll want to register now before they fill up.

Every year for the past 7 years I have announced for the Fitgers 5k race and start announcing outside the vehicle and end up inside shivering. This year I was standing outside greeting people talking to people and announcing the race.

Here's your heads up to register for the 27th Annual Fitger's 5k Run & Walk with Grandma's Marathon benefiting the Young Athletes Foundation.  They are capping the entries at 2,000 and I guarantee it'll fill up fast.  If you've been training for Grandma's Half or Full Marathon, this is a great training race!

Saturday morning, the 26th Annual Fitgers 5K will take place in the downtown and Canal Park Areas in Duluth.  With about 2,000 participants expected to participate, there will be some traffic delays associated with the event.
