Enger Golf Course

After a long winter and challenging spring weather conditions, courses are starting to open.

Courses across Minnesota, including the Northland, have seen a surge in golfing since the summer of 2020.

This time last year we were already golfing, but this spring has been slow to come. Nemadji is getting closer with opening their driving range soon.

There are two upcoming virtual public meetings scheduled to allow public input for the proposed Enger Golf Course renovations.

In a meeting Tuesday, February 16th, City Administration announced the closure of Lester Park Golf Course by 2023.

The City of Duluth will be hosting a series of virtual public listening sessions/workshops to cover different aspects of the Enger Redevelopment Project.

The City of Duluth is anticipating a $25 million budget shortfall, so Duluth Mayor Emily Larson announced Monday that Lester Park Golf Course will not open in 2020.

If you're starting to tire of winter, a sure sign that warmer weather will eventually arrive is that Duluth golf season passes and Skyline passes are on sale now.

As I write this blog I am conscious of the fact that we might have accumulating snow fall before the weekend.  However, the WDIO meteorologists say that it won't stick and golfers will definitely be able to take advantage of an extended season locally.

While it may be a bit too cold to golf this week, it's never too early to think about heading back out there.  A couple of local golf courses are under new management and they want you to check them out.

Thank you to all that purchased a Northland Golf Trail Card this year!  We sincerely hope you had a great season and lots of fun while saving scads of cash!!!!  As you are packing away the golf clubs and getting decorations out for the holidays, local golf courses are winterizing the greens and fairways looking forward to an early Spring golf season.

Recently, on the B105 Breakfast Club Show, Ken and I said that Spring has official arrived when we were able to get on the golf courses again.....well, according to the City of Duluth, Spring has officially Sprung.
