The St. Louis Historical Society invites you to enjoy a presentation celebrating the 100th anniversary of Polka Legends Frank Yankovic and Johnny Pecon. The event is free and will be presented by Joe Valencic, President of the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame and Museum.

Over a dozen history organizations are gathering May 8th at the Great Hall of the St. Louis Heritage & Arts Center (The Depot) to present the History Fair. They will showcase  artifacts and interesting pieces of our local rich history.

We've had the "Ghost Adventures" team in town, now there's an opportunity for you to get some potential chills yourself with a very cool way to see the Depot in Duluth. The St. Louis County Historical Society is now giving flashlight tours on February 13, 14, 27 and 28 and again on March 13.  The guided tours will lead visitors through the historic and, some would allege, haunted Depot.

The 10th Annual Veterans’ Remembrance Dinner will be held December 4th in the Great Hall of the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center (the Depot.) It's been a long time coming, but one of two Duluthians from WWII, who received the Military’s highest honor, will be showcased in an upcoming local exhibit.

The Immigrant Waiting Room is now open  at the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center, the Depot.  It is the largest, new awe-inspiring exhibit to open at the Depot other than DAI gallery changes, in several years.  But wait.....there's more coming this summer!

You should make plans to take an alternative route if you are near the train depot in Duluth this Friday August 24th.  The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans will be holding their annual "Stand Down" event. The event starts at 8:00am and will end at 2:00pm...

It isn't going to happen until next month, but I wanted to give y'all time to find an alternative parking location. The parking ramp next to the Depot on West Michigan Street is closing for repair.  I worked downtown Duluth for a few months and was lucky that the company I worked for, paid for my parking in a ramp.  If they hadn't done that, I'm not sure where I would have been parking, or how muc
