It's that time of the year when bears are out of hibernation and there isn't a lot of food for them yet out in the woods.  Until they get the food they want in their natural habitat, they will wander and could very well end up in a tree at Duluth's City Hall or in your yard.

A black bear was discovered Wednesday morning, napping high up in a tree in front of the Duluth City Hall near the intersection of 4th Avenue West and 1st Street.

The severe drought that much of the nation has been experience is causing another problem:  Bears scavenging for food in the west.  Calls of bears being a nuisance has risen, and often times they are breaking into homes and grocery stores.

There have been quite a few bear attacks in Yellowstone National Park and other areas in the rockie's this year.  A word of advice from the experts, carry bear mace with you at all times.  That may have saved this man's life in a tragic story out of Yellowstone where he and his wife were hiking, and he was mauled and killed by a bear...

Wow this is hard core!
