The Minnesota Vikings are starting to make some moves to add some talent to the roster for the upcoming season.

The Vikings announced that they have resigned DE Stephen Weatherly to a one-year deal that will help add some strength to the defensive line and help the team get some much-needed pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Weatherly played the last season with the Panthers after the team signed him as a free agent. He got injured last season and only played nine games with the team, but recorded 17 tackles. Carolina released Weatherly earlier this off season.

The Vikings drafted Weatherly  in the seventh-round in 2016 NFL Draft and played all 16 games in the 2018 and 2019 seasons and in his 4 years with the Vikings he got 67 tackles, six sacks and two forced fumbles in 49 games, seven of those as a starter.

The Minnesota Vikings said that Weatherly was at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center today after passing a physical. He will hopefully help improve the Vikings pass rush for next season, during the 2020 season the team ranked 28th in the NFL with only 23 sacks.

Weatherly played college play at Vanderbilt University and majored in sociology, he's able to play at least six different instruments and spends some of his free time glass-blowing, he was even a judge on the show 'Blown Away' on Netflix, a reality competition show featuring glass artists making glass-blown creations for a $60,000 season prize.
