If you're planning on heading to Starbucks, don't forget your mask or facial covering.

The company issued a press release Thursday (July 9th), stating that soon all customers will have to wear a facial covering in order to enter a store. The new policy goes into place on Wednesday, July 15th.

The company states that the new policy is an effort "in prioritizing the health and well-being of partners (employees) and customers." The new policy will impact all company-owned locations in the United States.

According to the press release, customers that want to order at Starbucks and don't have a face covering still can. You have three options: going through a Starbucks drive-thru location, using the curbside pickup option using the Starbucks app or having Starbucks delivered.Starbucks chains are also following other safety procedures amid COVID-19. Baristas are required to wear a mask and wash their hands frequently and the store's restrooms are temporarily closed to the public.

If you go inside a Starbucks store without a mask, the chain says they have the "right and responsibility to refuse service to customers who are not wearing facial coverings."

There are several Starbucks locations in Duluth, including the following:

  • The Target store at 1902 Miller Trunk Highway in Duluth
  • 1002 Woodland Avenue in Duluth
  • 325 West Central Entrance in Duluth
  • 331 West Superior Street in downtown Duluth
