Minnesota County Named One Of Snowiest In The U.S.
This might not be the very first title we'd want if we had a choice but it sets us apart from the rest so I'll take it. This one has to do with snow - which we get plenty of in Minnesota.
There is always some sort of list or study coming out and some are super fun and light-hearted. Others focus on facts. Some you simply have to take with a grain of salt.

As mentioned, the newest list we will be talking about has to do with snow. In case you missed it, the Old Farmer's Almanac just shared their January outlook and it includes a major snowstorm for our region. Yay?
Snowstorms are just a way of life around here and we are all pretty much used to it, even if we don't like it to much. If you are someone who loves the snow we get in Duluth, you'll love this even more!
Lawn Love Names The Snowiest Counties In The Country
Obviously, we aren't going to find Florida or California on this list. Ha! Website 'Lawn Love' started the year off by dropping a list of the snowiest counties in the country, looking at more than 200 counties where data was readily available.

From there, they looked at three major areas: historical snowfall for November through April from 1991 to 2020, which was weighted the most, along with snow removal and preparedness.
They also looked at climate data, looking at the average historical annual temperature and the average historical number of extremely cold days. For reference, those are days below 32 degrees, which isn't extremely cold for us at all. That's a heat wave.
St. Louis County Named The Seventh Snowiest County In The U.S.
I guess we can brag about this. St. Louis County came in at number seven on the list, meaning it is one of the snowiest counties in the entire country. Wow! We came in seventh in terms of historical snowfall, which definitely checks out.

We also scored high when it came to the climate category, which also makes sense, considering we are used to extremely cold days during the wintertime. It may seem crazy to others but snow is just a way of life for us.
It should also be noted that St. Louis County has the ninth highest record snowfall in a single day with a whopping 42.5 inches. Yikes!
By the way, a handful of other Minnesota counties made the cut including Hennepin, Koochiching, Olmsted, Ramsey and Benton.
