The use and legalities of marijuana have been front-and-center in the news over the last couple of years, as supporters aim to overtake the laws that restrict it's general use in society. Those supporters generally broadcast the supposed medical benefits; meanwhile, defenders of the current laws wonder what ramifications would be generated by making the drug legal to use.

In order for the general public to have more information on the issue, the St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services department has partnered with Snickers Pizza, J&T Sales, and Essential Health to coordinate a public forum on Wednesday, April 24.  The forum - "Marijuana and Mental Health Community Solutions" will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Eveleth Auditorium, 421 Jackson Street in Eveleth.

At the forum, a variety of presentations will be made.  Taking part in the event will be Leafline Labs - a medical cannabis provider and Lakeview Behavioral Health and Arrowhead Center.  In addition, a panel discussion will feature a police officer, probation officer, Drug Court attorney, and a social worker.

The event is free.  A light dinner will be served at 4:00 PM, followed by the presentations at 4:30 PM.
