I was looking forward to today, because the elections are over.  We no longer have to hear or see the annoying ads that are all over TV, Radio, and even YouTube.  But then I forgot about something... Facebook.  Oh yes, there would be a ton of people in heated debate over every post about politics.   But hey-  where else can you go off about politics?  Social media is perfect, because you can say anything on the internet without repercussions, right?

The internet is a place where people say whatever they want.  You don't even have to work a topic into conversation.  You can just blurt it out there.  You can just vomit all over the place your political crap.

It's actually quite entertaining seeing how worked up some people get.

For example... just watch what unfolds here.  I dare you to read the comments.

The best part is that a good amount of it doesn't have to with this election anyway.  ]

Social media politics... where nobody is very social.

The very definition of social from dictionary.com

1. Pertaining to, devoted to, or characterized by friendly companionship or relations:

a social club.

2.

seeking or enjoying the companionship of others; friendly; sociable; gregarious.

3.

of, pertaining to, connected with, or suited to polite or fashionable society:

a social event.

4.

living or disposed to live in companionship with others or in a community, rather than in isolation:

People are social beings.

5.

of or pertaining to human society, especially as a body divided into classes according to status:

social rank.

6.

involved in many social activities:

We're so busy working, we have to be a little less social now.

7.

of or pertaining to the life, welfare, and relations of human beings in a community:

social problems.

And yet, we are anything but social when it comes to politics or any other hot topic on the internet.   The internet breaks down people's inhibitions and lets them say whatever they want.  Basically talking about politics on social media is like taking 4 shots of tequila and talking about politics in real life.
