Scotty McCreery’s ‘This Is It’ Video Is an Emotional Look at His Real-Life Wedding
Scotty McCreery married his high school sweetheart, Gabi Dugal, on June 16, 2018, in North Carolina, and the "This Is It" video lets us pretend we were there.
No surprise that the country star is emotional throughout a four-minute video that was filmed across four days of wedding festivities.
“Our wedding day was everything we wanted it to be, as Gabi and I celebrated our love and commitment to each other with family and close friends in the beautiful North Carolina mountains,” McCreery says. “‘This is It’ is our story. We have received so much love and support from our fans that we felt it was only right to share our special day with them. We hope everyone enjoys the music video as much as we love being able to relive that day over and over again.”
The "This Is It" video opens with a view of the North Carolina mountains on the couple's wedding day, then pans to McCreery, who is waiting for his bride to walk down the aisle. His eyes fill with tears as she makes her way toward him.

The McCreerys' wedding and reception were held at the Twickenham House, which sits above the Blue Ridge Parkway. The music video perfectly captures the picturesque setting. Baby photos of McCreery and Dugal are shown on chairs at the wedding rehearsal and cameras follow the couple throughout their rehearsal dinner, on a romantic hike and as they get ready the morning of the wedding.
Jeff Ray directed the "This Is It" video and included an emotional moment in which the couple see each other for the first time on their big day. Dugal says she wasn't sure about doing a first look because it isn't traditional, but she admits they were happy to get their nerves out before the ceremony.
“They did a great job with capturing all the emotion,” McCreery tells the Knot. “I hope fans see how fun of a wedding it was. The music video is very documentary-style … There are moments when you see me all emotional, and Gabi smiling and showing all 32 of her teeth.”
"This Is It" was written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis two weeks before the singer proposed. It is the second single from his latest album, Seasons Change.
