Scotty McCreery’s Christmas Album Sells Big as Singer Preps for Busy Holiday
Who wouldn't want to spend Christmas with Scotty McCreery? While there are plenty of fans who would like the opportunity, they'll have to settle for hearing the star sing Christmas carols this holiday season.
The 19-year-old star will bring the best of his 'Christmas With Scotty McCreery' album -- which is looking to be one of the best-selling country Christmas albums this year -- to fans via various media outlets and television specials. The album is nearing gold certification, with almost 200,000 copies sold (500,000 shipped) in the month since its release.
McCreery will have to hold off on celebrating the album's success for a little while, though. The 'American Idol' winner will be quite busy performing on various television shows and holiday specials, thanks to the hit album. Fortunately, the young star and his family have already had a chance to get an early jump on celebrating the festive holiday, starting as far back as October!
In addition to being part of NBC's 15th Annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center, which airs Wednesday, McCreery will also have his own holiday special, 'Christmas With Scotty McCreery and Friends,' which debuts on GAC on December 1.
But that is just the start of his hectic television schedule which runs through the month of December. McCreery will also make an appearance on the 10th Annual 'Hollywood Christmas Celebration at the Grove,' a nationally syndicated TV special. To round it all out, McCreery will also be part of the 'CMA Country Christmas' special, which airs Thursday, December 20 at 9PM ET on ABC.
Fans can also catch McCreery as a presenter on the American Country Awards on Dec. 10 on FOX, as well as his two appearances on ABC’s 'Good Morning America,' which are slated for December 11 and December 24.
And somehow, McCreery is still busy chipping away at his highly-anticipated sophomore album. When we spoke with him back in June, he revealed his plan to "change it up a little bit" with the new material.
