In addition to radio I work in the environmental construction field, I also used to be a cobbler and boot salesman so I appreciate good footwear.  I have to wear safety toe boots at work and the Redwing 2408 which is basically a classic boot now, is one I haven't worn for work in over 10 years.

Timberland has majorly jumped into the work boot market and I've owned a few pairs of those, lately I had been wearing a logger style boot from Wolverine but I wanted something this time with less aggressive tread.  In the back of my mind I was going to jump into the 2408 again before I even entered Bear Shoe, but I still tried on several other brands and styles.

The 2408 is comfortable right out of the box with very little need to break it in, it's like being with an old girlfriend again.  The price hovers around that $260 mark but it's American Made and you can feel the quality.  These are not throwaway boots and can also be resoled and repaired right in the Twin Ports.

The 2408 is also available as a 6" boot instead of 8" and is the 2406 in case you don't like the extra height.  If you are looking for a good classic pair of work boots and haven't checked these out, do yourself a favor and try them on.  After a week back in them, my feet are happy and this boot clearly is still built well like they always have been.
