Hermantown High School Grad Added To Bayfront Country Jam Lineup
What an exciting gig! A Hermantown High School grad has been added to the lineup for Bayfront Country Jam, which is always a summer highlight in the Twin Ports!
Bayfront Country Jam is an annual show put on at Bayfront Festival Park each summer. Past headliners include Aaron Tippin and Chris Janson. There is nothing better than a show right on Lake Superior!
This year, we have country music superstar Jake Owen headlining the show. He has been to Minnesota many times over the years and will be taking the stage over Fourth of July weekend. He has had a ton of number one hits and it is going to be a great show.
When the show was announced late last year, Tyler Rich was billed as the one and only opener for the show, with more artists to be announced closer to the show. Now, we have another up-and-comer that will be taking the stage!
Hermantown High School grad and up-and-coming country artist Rafe Carlson will be opening the show this summer. Rafe will be kicking off the entire show, with George Birge taking the stage next. Birge is another new addition to the lineup.
As for Rafe, he shared his excitement about being added to the docket on his Instagram page Thursday (March 10th). He could barely contain his excitement as he shared the news that he is opening for a huge country music superstar.
Rafe has been in-studio with The Breakfast Club a handful of times recently, his most recent visit being the end of January. He joined the show to perform a few covers and also shared details of his brand new single.
The song is called Just Can't Explain and Rafe says it was inspired by the common phrase everyone hears when it comes to love: you will find your person when you least expect it. He wrote it in May of last year in Nashville.
You can listen to his music on streaming services but as for what is next, he is tight-lipped and says he can't say too much just yet. One thing is for sure: we can see him at Bayfront Festival Park this summer.
In the meantime, make sure you grab your tickets if you haven't already! General admission tickets are $40 bucks and VIP tickets are also available for a slight up-charge of about $60 bucks.
You can purchase tickets online or via phone by calling 1-800-965-9324. Gates for the show open at 5:30 p.m. and all ticket sales are final. It should also be noted that this show will happen rain or shine.
There are so many shows to look forward to this year in the Twin Ports and beyond over the course of the next few months! We keep track of all the shows coming to the area and other close Minnesota cities with our concert calendar.
The most recent concert announcement is a big one: Alan Jackson! He will be playing a show at the Xcel this summer and it may be his last tour ever. It is another one you definitely don't want to miss.
