Unfortunately, many of us have lost someone we know to suicide.  It seems in recent years we hear about it more often, and far too often.  The Out of The Darkness Walk unites the community to raise awareness and funds.  The money raised helps the American Foundation for Suicide prevention to invest in research, create educational programs, and support survivors of suicide loss.

The walk is going to be wherever you want, as due to the Covid, there is no group walk this year.  The registration will be a pop-up location at Barnes and Noble, in Duluth's Miller Hill Mall.  Registration is on Wednesday, September 9th, from 5:00PM-7:30PM.  There you can drop off any donations, get your walk shirt, signs, and more.  At the in person registration, social distancing will be in place and masks will be required when interacting with event volunteers.

The walk date is Saturday, September 12th.  As mentioned above, you can walk wherever you want.  So pick a park, or just walk around your neighborhood.  It will begin virtually on Facebook at 10:00AM.  If you can't make the in person registration, you can register and get more information about the walk HERE.  It's for a good cause and it's a good way to get the whole family out of the house for some exercise before winter creeps in to the Northland and limits that.
