The NorthShore Inline Marathon partnered with the Northern Lights Foundation this year and allowed participants in the race to make an optional donation to the charity. Participants donated approximately $1600 to the local charity, and the NorthShore Inline Marathon matched those donations. That brings the total to $3200 to the charity in hopes of "helping more children reach the finish line."

The Northern Lights Foundation is a local charity that helps families who have children who are facing life threatening illnesses with financial grants. Ken Larson, President of the Northern Lights Foundation appreciates the partnership saying,

“We rely on donations raised from events, individuals and businesses in order fulfill our mission of helping children and their families diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Without support from donations and partnerships like we have with the incredible team at the NorthShore Inline Marathon, we simply couldn’t do what we do,”
