If your travels take you on northbound I-35 near 27th Avenue West, you should expect to encounter ramp closures starting Monday, December 16.

The closures, which will continue through Tuesday, December 17, are needed while crews perform drilling and surveying in advance of the Twin Ports Interchange project, which is scheduled to begin in spring 2020.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, here is what you can expect:

The I-35 northbound off-ramp to 27th Avenue West will close Monday, December 16. Work will start in this area at 9 a.m. This work is expected to be completed by noon or shortly thereafter and the ramp will reopen. Then the ramp from 27th Avenue West to northbound I-35 will close until 3 p.m. If the work at this location is not completed Monday afternoon, work will resume Tuesday at 9 a.m. and continue until it is finished.

As always, be on the lookout for workers out on the roads in the Northland and drive with caution.
