Child hunger is a big problem all across the country.  You would think that in 2021 there would be less issues with those types of things, but many still suffer from not enough to eat.  Every Meal, is an organization that works hard to help with child hunger, and offers many programs throughout the year to keep kids fed.  You can even help them out by donating to the cause on their website linked to above.

The Superior Douglas County Family YMCA has partnered with Every Meal to provide food bags of non-perishable items for free to those who have a need.  The bags will have 4-5 pounds of food and they are offering several pickup dates and times.

The next time for pickup will be on Thursday, March 11th from 4:00-8:00PM in the Y lobby.  There will also be a pickup event on Saturday, March 13th from 10:00AM-12:00PM, this will be in the Y's lower West parking lot.  Orange signs will be placed for you to know the area.

In addition to these dates, there are ongoing options for those in need to receive non-perishable food at this location.  You can get more information about those dates HERE.  The Superior YMCA is located at 9 North 21st Street and you can get more information about all of their programs and offerings HERE.  If you are going inside on one of  the Thursday evening pickup dates, please do make sure that you wear your mask and follow their social distancing guidelines to help keep everyone involved as safe as possible.
