The full National Football League 2022 season schedule will be officially released this Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. CST, but we're already getting a little bit of information about the early part of schedule.

Last week, the NFL announced the Minnesota Vikings would travel to London on Sunday, October 2 to battle the New Orleans Saints. Also announced, the Green Bay Packers would make their first ever trip to London on Sunday, October 9 to face the New York Giants.

On Monday morning, the National Football League released more information on the upcoming 2022 season schedule and it once again involved the Minnesota Vikings.

NFL.com announced that there will be a week 2 Monday Night Football Doubleheader and the second game will find the Vikings in a hostile environment as they travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The game kicks off on Monday, September 19, at 7:30 pm CST and will be televised on ABC:

After a disappointing 8-9 season that cost Mike Zimmer his job, the Vikings and new head coach Kevin O'Connell travel to Philadelphia to take on Jalen Hurts and an Eagles squad that barely eked into the playoffs last year. With Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson returning for Minnesota and Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on the other side, this game could be a high-scoring affair.

Usually the NFL season kicks off with a Monday Night Football double header, so having it on week 2 is twist on previous schedules.

In the first September 19 game, the Tennessee Titans hit the road to face the Buffalo Bills at 6:15 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, which means it will overlap the Vikings game. That's another twist from previous Monday Night Football doubleheaders where the second game didn't kick off until the first game was completed.

There are also rumors flying around that the Vikings would kickoff the 2022 NFL season at home, with the New York Giants coming to U.S. Bank Stadium.

If that rumors turns out to be true, then the first 5 weeks of the Vikings schedule is getting pretty clear. They would face the Giants at home week 1, then head to Philadelphia for a Monday Night Football showdown on week 2.

You'd expect the Vikings to be home again week 3 because they head to London on week 4 for their game against the New Orleans Saints. Teams rarely have 3 road games in a row, especially when one of them is an international game.

Then, based on past NFL scheduling history, the Vikings are very likely to have a week 5 bye. This is because the vast majority of NFL teams who play an international game receive a bye the following week.

The 2022 NFL schedule speculation will all come to an end this Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. when the NFL releases the schedule in its entirety. Then we can all see when both the Viking vs. Packers games will be.
