Global Retailer To Open New Store In Minnesota
It's been a year filled with a lot of good news and a little disappointing news at the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth, Minnesota.
The good news included the return of Cinnabon, which opened in Center Court to the left of Claire’s, and the additions of Mythic Mercantile, a pop-up shop across from Helzberg Diamonds, Perfumania, which opened this fall across from Cinnabon, and then Windsor, a fashion destination for women’s apparel, accessories, and special occasion wear.
Recently, there was some disappointing news when we learned that national retailer FYE (For Your Entertainment), which sells a variety of collectibles, apparel, music, movies, snacks, and other pop culture items, would soon be closing its Duluth store after over 9 years at the mall.
The big question was, what would take the place of FYE, which had been located near the food court? We may now know the answer.

Global Retailer To Open New Store In The Miller Hill Mall
JD Sports is a global retailer that specializes in "sports-fashion," selling branded athletic footwear, apparel, and accessories from top brands including Nike, Adidas, and Jordan, alongside its own private labels, operating globally both in-store and online.
Recently, the Miller Hill Mall was excited to announce that JD Sports would be opening in the mall sometime in 2026, with construction expected to begin in the coming months.
While grand opening details won't be available until that day gets closer, it was also announced that the new store would be "conveniently situated near the Food Court." That is also where the soon-to-be-closed FYE store was located, so one wonders if that's the space JD Sports will be taking over.
Also, it's interesting to note that in 2018, JD Sports acquired the retailer Finish Line, and many Finish Line stores are being converted into JD Sports locations, offering similar athletic footwear and apparel.
Finish Line happens to have a store currently open in the Miller Hill Mall, so perhaps it will be vacating its current location to open in a larger space as JD Sports.
