With thousands of runners and spectators taking part in the 2018 Grandma’s Marathon festivities, we’re keeping an eye on the weather for you. Here is how things are looking right now for the big weekend:

Friday Evening - William A Irvin 5K, Entertainment Tent Concerts (Duluth)

Thunderstorms clearing out of the area through the afternoon, leaving mostly cloudy conditions this evening. 54 degrees with a breeze out of the northeast (off the lake) up to 10 mph. Temperatures remaining around 55 degrees after sunset. Slight chance of rain or a thundershower.

Saturday Morning - Grandma's Marathon Starting Line (Two Harbors)

Cloudy with a 60% chance of rain showers and thunderstorms through the morning hours. Start time temperatures near 55 degrees. Humidity will be high, and fog is possible. Northeast breeze up to 11 mph.

Saturday Morning - Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon/Grandma's Marathon Finish Line (Duluth)

Mostly cloudy and 57 degrees with a 50% chance of rain showers and thunderstorms through the morning hours. Humidity will be high through the morning and there is a potential of fog. Variable, but generally northeast breeze up to 8 mph.

Saturday Daytime (Duluth)

Cloudy and 65 degrees with humid conditions persisting. Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible through the midday hours with a chance to see a few peeks of sun in the mid to late afternoon hours. Variable but generally east wind up to 10 mph. Thunderstorm chances start to increase in the late afternoon hours.

Saturday Evening - Entertainment Tent Concerts (Duluth)

Increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms in the evening hours with a 50% chance of rain through the evening. Temperature will settle near 58 degrees through the evening. Northeast breeze at 5-10 mph.
